"When I first joined Seven Flags Fitness I really had no intention of hiring a personal trainer. My original plan was to come in a few times a week, work a few of the machines and maybe do some cardio. That was basically what I had done in the past at various other fitness centers with some success. The main problem was that the success was slow coming and moderate at best. With slow results I found myself losing interest and not working out regularly and eventually not going at all."

"I haven't gone to the gym before the start of this year for a long time. During the first couple of months that I was going to the gym I felt like I was wasting a lot of time not knowing which exercises would help me the most and not knowing how to use the machines properly. I started working out with Jon in April a couple times each week. He put together a program for me, which zeroed in on the things that I wanted to change the most. At first I was really sore from using muscles that hadn't been used in a long time but before I knew it I could lift weights that just a few weeks prior I wasn't able to lift or could only do one or two reps. "I came to 7 Flags to get in quick shape for my apperance on "Reality Stars Fear Factor." I was very specific about my goals and I felt confident I was in the right place. I wanted to cover all possible situtations I might find myself in while taping the show, so I trained in the pool, trained running outside and trained hard in the gym. I went to Los Angeles to tape the show and felt confident, strong and in great shape. I was able to face any challenge knowing I was prepared and ready physically. "Since returning home, I have continued training with Jon every week because I love the way I feel when I am active in a training program. I also love the noticeable changes in my body and I don't want to give that back. I love working with a trainer because Jon will push me harder than I will push myself. He also mixes up the exercises so I don't get used to doing them and so they are always challenging to me. It amazes me how he knows how to adjust the weights to my new found strength. "Having a trainer makes coming to the gym a social event. It's like you have a friend waiting for you when you get here. The kind of friend that doesn't ever want to eat or drink with you. I never feel pressure when I can't make it in but I know he is here for me if I want to take advantage of his expertise. I don't have time to read all the magazines to learn all of the exercises or carry around the article like a rookie to make sure I am doing them right."
